2025 trends, deepfeed, and content inspo
Your weekly social scoop 🔮
Hi CCs! I’m back and ready to hit the ground running with the newsletter in 2025. I admit the video podcast overtook a lot of time and resources (hello editing!) but we’re finding our stride.
Let’s get into it! 😊
P.S. I am exploring the idea of bringing on a co-author for the newsletter to assist with research, level up the quality, and expand our reach. Are you a social media nerd or know someone who might be interested? Please forward this or feel free to reach out directly at [email protected]. Let’s chat! 🤙
deepfeed Podcast hits 1,000+ subscribers on YouTube
In case you’re new here: we launched a video podcast called deepfeed in May which is dedicated to exploring the art of brand-building on social media. As the host, I interview outstanding entrepreneurs, marketers, and creators. We recently published our 13th episode of the podcast and have two more to come before calling it a wrap of Season 01. Getting 1,000 subs on my birthday (December 4th) was an amazing way to end the year. And we recently went live on YouTube in a new offshoot series called deepfeed after dark to reflect on the journey so far and what has gone into the pod. Check it out here.

🤳 Content Inspo
Mino Lee’s series to hitting 100k month in revenue. [LINK]
Storytelling will continue to win in 2025 and likely outperform talking head style videos. Consider starting a series focused on a goal that keeps your audience engaged and rooting for your success. Don’t be afraid to get vulnerable and share wins and losses like Mino Lee here who is amazing at storytelling vlog videos. Definitely poke around his feed for more inspiration.
Kaulana Funakoshi’s intro VISUAL hooks. [LINK]
Kaulana is a special kind of creative who puts a lot of time into his videos, but we can take inspiration from his unique visual hooks. We now only have probably half a second to keep someone engaged. Verbal hooks may not be enough, so consider how you can make your content (especially vlog style) interesting right from the jump. Does not need to be a copy of Kaulana — could be what you’re wearing, your background, are you holding something interesting, etc.
Nana DelRey’s carousels. [LINK]
Nana is also very good at storytelling and has built a series called 3 Lessons I’ve Learned This Year as a 26 Year Old Entrepreneur which is great, but I also like her carousels and think brands and creators alike can take inspiration. Find your unique style and use carousels to break up the video feed to give your unique POV on your life/an interesting topic or give value-packed educational tips. I think we’re going to see this format grow even more in 2025.
Robert Croak’s walk-and-talk style TikToks. [LINK]
This entrepreneur shares financial advice while walking through city streets. This gives authentic, approachable videos that feel like you’ve caught him mid-commute, generously sharing insights from his busy day. Try this over sitting as an experiment.

This was published about a year ago but I think still relevant today and worth a watch.

That’s it for this week. If you made it to the end, reply with a 🦇 emoji. Much love.
P.S. I will probably have typos in the event that my dad is unavailable to proofread. Sorry in advance.
